What we eat effects our physical body, and also plays a role in our mood. There are many links between food & mood, and often we may turn to food when in a bad mood. There are certain foods that help release certain neurotransmitters- brain chemicals, which make us feel calmer. So if you find yourself turning to refined carbs during stressful times, you may be unconsciously trying to deal with a bad mood by eating foods that will generate a more feel-good effect.
